Scott & La Prova wines can be experienced in our Cellar Door in Hahndorf, in the central Adelaide Hills. Scott wines feature classic Adelaide Hills varieties such as Chardonnay and Shiraz alongside newbies like Fiano and an eclectic red blend of Shiraz, Sangiovese, Lagrein and Aglianico. The La Prova label (the trial) is a specialist Italian grape varietal wine range where emerging varieties in Australia, like Aglianico, Pinot Grigio, Garganega, Nero D'Avola, Lagrein, Sangiovese and Montepulciano are made.

La Prova Prosecco 2017

Llama Blue

Winemaking Notes

Myrrhee, King Valley

Grown by the Myrkel family. Red volcanic soils and 600m elevation on the western ridge of Australia’s spiritual home of Prosecco, the alpine King Valley.

If you seek light, bright and vibrant – here you go.

Prosecco’s trademark characters of citrus blossom, apple and melon finish with its typical chalky minerality.

This Prosecco had a slow, cool primary fermentation to capture the bright, and subtle varietal characters. Secondary fermentation, the one where you get the bubbles, was performed in the charmat method (in a pressurized tank) and bottled with a dosage of 9 grams per litre residual sugar.

In 2009 the Prosecco Consorzio officially changed the name of the variety to Glera, reserving the name Prosecco for the designation of origin. However, Australia, with first plantings in the 1990’s has only ever known this variety as Prosecco and continues to do so.

Bottled in July 2017.
